This holiday season, I wanted to share my grandma's cookies with everyone! They melt in your mouth and are great for an afternoon mint tea break. These cookies are simple to make with five ingredients and they're wonderful.
Enjoy with family and friends,
Nurit
Ingredients:
-
3/4 cup of canola oil
-
80 grams of soft butter
-
1 cup of powdered sugar
-
2 1/2 cups of self-rising flour
- 2 tbsps ground cinnamon
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix the oil and butter.
Then add the power sugar and mix.
Next, add the self-rising flour and mix with your hands.
Mix until you have a soft semi-dry dough that you can roll into a little cookie ball—not oily; almost dry and crumbly/powdery.
If it’s too wet, add more flour and powdered sugar.
Once you are happy with the consistency, cover the dough and let it rest for an hour in the fridge.
Preheat the oven to 320 ºF.
Prepare a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
Grab the dough from the fridge and start to make small balls (approx. 1 inch) and place them an inch apart on the baking sheet.
Sprinkle cinnamon on each cookie ball.
Bake for 15 minutes. The cookie should be white with a little golden on the bottom.
After removing them from the oven, leave them on the baking sheet until cooled as they are soft and will crumble.
